Property
In January 2002 we bought the property in Sambateni near Arad.
It is a very nice plot of land with an area of 3000 square meters and it is centrally located in the middle of the village. We lived in this little house for the first few months after we moved to Romania, until the new house was ready.
Demolition of the house
There were still 3 small houses on the property. In autumn 2002 we tore down two of the three houses with the help of some friends and brothers from Dorin. This created space for the new home to be built.
Basement almost finished
In spring 2003 construction began on the new home. In June the cellar was almost ready. It went quickly.
Shell
The shell was finished in autumn. It was done soon. The only thing missing was the roof. Will it work out before winter comes with a few degrees below zero?
Roof ready
It turned out great! The roof was finished right before the great onset of winter. God is so good! He planned everything exactly!
Windows & Doors
The house is now tight with windows and doors. Now the internal work can begin.
Grind
Everything then went very smoothly. The inside of the house was plastered, where a youth group from Linz lend a hand. It all started around Easter 2004.
When the house was finished with plastering, I could start painting. The rooms should be colorfully painted so that the children like it. So every child’s room was painted in a different color. Soon it looked very comfortable in it. We enjoyed it!
Lay kitchen tile laminate flooring
In the time that was painted, the other things inside were also finished, such as laying tiles in the kitchen, bathrooms and toilets, but also the laminate flooring was soon laid. Now only the furniture was missing. We had helpers everywhere, from home and abroad. We are so grateful to our Lord that he has sent us so many helping hands, otherwise we would not have made it so quickly.
Our house is being demolished
Shortly before Christmas 2004 we were able to move into the new house. That was a pleasure – finally done so far! In the summer of 2005 our little house where we had lived for the first time was torn down so that the fence and the playground could be made. The sight that our house was destroyed, in which we had felt comfortable and where our start in Romania was, was a bit painful, but something new and beautiful could emerge instead.
The house is wrapped in insulation
The first winter in the new house was over. We were down to minus 28 degrees and the water pipes froze us twice. Now it was time we packed up the house so that doesn’t happen again.
Scaffolding was put up on all sides and then it could begin. It takes some time for such a large house to be packed, but we made it with outside help. Friends from Austria came and helped again so that it went faster. Some only came for a weekend and taped 2 sides of the house with insulation and glue, then had to drive home. We are very grateful for this time that they sacrificed for us.
The house is ready
By autumn, or rather, by the opening ceremony in September 2005, the facade was finished and the house stood there in a sunny yellow.

Foundation for outbuildings
In 2005 we wanted to start an outbuilding with a sports room, a garage and rooms for a mother-child center. Construction began in spring, again with hard-working helpers from Austria who laid the foundations.
Pour the ceiling
The outbuilding is halfway up. You can already see the sports room and the garage. Now the first ceiling is poured so that the upper floor for the mother-child center can be built.
Mother-child center is established
Soon the upper rooms for the mother-child center will also be ready. Before winter we managed to get the first blanket. Now in spring the construction of the upper rooms continues.
Roof of the outbuilding
The roof has started.
right: The workers stand proudly in front of the work they have done. The roof is ready. But there is still a lot of work ahead of us before the house is completely finished.
Windows & Doors
Windows and doors are installed. It looks very different. Now we can concentrate on the interior work.
Shared kitchen, shared laundry room, small apartments
The interior work started. After electricity and installations for water and heating had been made, a youth group from South Tyrol came in August 2007 to do the internal work for us.
Insulation and painting
The outbuilding is insulated and given a yellow paint job.
Sports ground
We still had plans to make a sports field in the courtyard. There is enough space for it. So the children in the summer, the little ones, when they are older or ours already, can let off steam with football and it is also a great help and joy for the youth in the village when they are allowed to play with us every now and then. Whether football, basketball or volleyball, there is enough space for it.
The sports field is being built …
It doesn’t matter on gravel or concrete! The main thing is that we can „kick“!

Fence and lamps are set up.
Finally a smart lawn …
Yes, you can play football really well on this lawn.
